I am a psychiatrist with a background in electrical engineering and computer sciences. My passion is mental health technology and guiding safe and evidence based mobile technology towards clinical use in psychiatry. With my combined background I have built and programmed mental health research apps, conduced several app evaluation studies with clinical populations, and published over 30 peer-reviewed papers related to mobile mental health technologies. However, I also understand that that technology alone is not a panacea and have studied the ethical implications of smartphone apps in clinical care and chair the American Psychiatric Association work group on smartphone app evaluation.
